In your school or business life, you might have the experience of presenting a PowerPoint to your classmates or customers. Sometimes, if you want to share your presentations on a computer without the PowerPoint program installed, you will find it pretty difficult. So many people would like to record PowerPoint as video like MP4, MOV, AVI, etc. In this way, you can share your PPT easily and even play it with no computer.

In this article, we will provide you with two ways to record PowerPoint presentations with audio. One is to use the built-in function of PowerPoint, and the other is to use a professional screen recorder software.

Method 1: Record PowerPoint as Video with Built-in Function

Method 2: Record PPT with PowerPoint Recorder Software

Method 1: Record PowerPoint as Video with Built-in Function

PowerPoint itself has the record feature. Many users do not know that Microsoft has already added this feature to PowerPoint which allows users to turn the slideshow into video. This method can only be used on the PowerPoint 2010 and above. So if you want to use this way while having a lower version of PowerPoint, you must get an update. Start to record your presentation as follows:

  1. Open your presentation, tap "Save & Send" under "File".

  2. Click the "Computer & HD Displays" down arrow to choose video quality and size options under "Create a video".

  3. Choose "Use Recorded Timings and Narrations" if you have recorded and timed the narrations and you also need them to be included in the video later.

  4. Hit "Create Video" to complete this record process.

Note: PowerPoint 2010 only saves your presentation as a Windows Media Video (.wmv) file and PowerPoint 2013 and PowerPoint 2016 can save your presentation as either an MPEG-4 video file (.mp4) or a .wmv file.

Method 2: Record PPT with PowerPoint Recorder Software

With limitations to the PowerPoint version and the supported output video format, you might not choose the method above. Then this Yolisoft Screen Recorder will be your best choice. It is a powerful program to record all your activities on computer screen. It allows you to record PowerPoint presentations with audio simultaneously.

- You can choose "System sound", "Microphone" or "System sound and microphone" within this program as your audio input source.

- The recorded video can be saved in WMV by default. If you want to save recordings in other formats, you can go to "Settings" -> "Options" -> "Recording", then choose your desirable output format such as MP4, WMV, AVI, FLV, MPEG, VOB, ASF, etc from "Video format" menu.
